On National Day, Oct 1st, exciting news emerged from China Northwest - Huaneng Qinghai Hainan Prefecture 150MW/600MWh 35kV Cascaded High-Voltage Direct-Mounted Energy Storage Power Station has successfully connected to the grid and commenced operation!
This project, jointly developed by Huaneng Clean Energy Research Institute (CERI),Guangzhou Zhiguang Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd (Zhiguang Energy Storage) and other partners, stands as the world's highest altitude and largest cascaded high-voltage energy storage power station to date.
In this project, CERI together with Zhiguang Energy Storage and other partners, overcame numerous challenges, including tight timlines and heavy development tasks. We successfully developed a 25MW/100MWh 35kV Cascaded High-Voltage Direct-Mounted Energy Storage unit, conducted factory testing of the 35kV high-voltage machine, and efficiently completed on-site equipment installation and commissioning. This culminated in a successful one-time grid connection.
Zhiguang Energy Storage has successfully integrated and commissioned five sets of 125MW/500MWh Cascaded High-Voltage Energy Storage units for this power station. The company prioritized the project’s implementation process, leveraging its exceptional capabilities to ensure smooth progress.
